What Is A Virtual Law Office?

Worldwide, people live an e-life and everyone wants 24-hour access to services and information.  In the current economy it is important to keep legal services affordable.

The Walker Law Firm has created the Walker Virtual Law Office (WVLO) to take advantage of Internetbased tools to provide legal services conveniently and cost efficiently.

Many people don’t have the time or resources to take off from work to travel to a lawyer’s office. When you use the WVLO, you usually do not have to travel to our office. Many legal matters can be handled entirely online. For example, once you have created a client account, you will be able to access your personal client homepage to ask a legal question, to review a draft of documents being prepared for you or to check on the status of your case.

You can do so with the highest industry standards of security from anywhere in the world entirely on your schedule, whenever it is most convenient for you.  All you need is access to a computer, and your WVLO client account user ID and password.

Reasonable costs, quality personal service and efficient delivery. These are the reasons you will want to use WVLO.

FAQ

1. What is a virtual law office?

A virtual law office (VLO) allows clients to receive quality, cost-effective, unbundled legal services entirely online. It’s all online and clients don’t have to travel to an office, or make an appointment, saving time and money.  The Walker Law Firm also saves money on lower overhead costs and passes those savings on to clients. Clients can ask legal questions, or have legal documents professionally drafted, all from the comfort of their home (or wherever they are connected to the internet).

2. What are unbundled legal services?

Unbundled legal services, also known as limited legal services, are legal services that are limited in the scope of representation (for example, drafting a will). This firm only provides services pertaining to Illinois law.  Prior to any services being provided, a client must agree to the scope of representation and the fee to be charged.  All representation is subject to the Terms of Use.

3. Is my information secure?

Yes.  The majority of attorney-client communication is done through a Secured HTTP – the highest industry standard protection with the same methods of protections used by banks and government agencies. Data is encrypted at both the communication and storage levels using proven algorithms offering the highest degree of protection.

Payments are made by either certified checks or credit card.  Credit card payments are processed by a Cardholder Information Security Program (CISP) complaint credit card processors and no client credit card information is stored.

4. What if my problem requires in-person representation?

The Walker Law Firm will also provide in-person representation, if it is required for your legal matter.  If, after a consultation, it is determined a client needs in-person representation, they will be provided with either a referral to another attorney or to a referral service through a bar association.

5. What does registration and the initial consultation cost?

Both are free!  After the initial consultation, clients will receive a quote for the cost of the legal services required.  All costs are provided up front in the form of a fixed price or fee.  No work is done until a client agrees to the fees quoted and a general retainer is paid by the client.

6. How do I register?

Click on the “Login” page, and the click on “create account”.  From there, just follow the prompts.

7. What happens once I register?

Once you register, you receive a secure client page, through which you can communicate with an attorney at The Walker Law Firm and initiate a consultation.

8. Does registering create an attorney-client relationship?

Registering does not create an attorney-client relationship.  An initial consultation will determine if there are any conflicts of interest and the required scope of representation.  If there are no conflicts and Martin has determined he can help you, an attorney-client relationship will be established through a mutual agreement.

9. Why not just email my attorney?

Email communication is not secure or encrypted. For your protection and security, any legal questions or request for a consultation must go through the secured client page after registering for free.

If you have a non-legal question or comment, you may email our general query box at martin@themartinwalkerfirm.com.
